Traffic Exchange Surfers………

Traffic exchange Surfers are surfing for one reason only – To get their pages seen. They are not surfing exchanges to find your product or services. They are only interested in seeing the timer count down and earning page views for their pages.

However, they can still be a quite effective resource if used properly. To use them properly you must do a few things.

Do not just use an affiliate page. The average affiliate page is seen by each surfer 100′s if not 1000′s of times. An active surfer can see the same affiliate page hundreds of times each day.  An affiliate page can work, but not very well.  Click affiliate page to see what I am talking about.

It’s best to use a splash page or a squeeze page. A splash page/squeeze page is a very short quick loading page used to create an action. Remember, the person that is seeing this page is busy trying to earn credits for their page. They don’t want to spend a lot of time reading a large page of text and will most likely just skip over it. However, you can get them to sign up for more information or click through to a long. sales page that they can then read when they are finished earning their credits.

This is why many programs are now including splash pages or squeeze pages for their members.  Click splash pages and squeeze pages for examples of both from Affiliate Funnel.

To make an effective splash page it should follow this formula explained by Jon Olson, owner of I Love Hits and editor of Hit Exchange News.  Thee ACA formula for splash pages – Attention, Curiosity, Action.

Attention:  You need to grab peoples attention. A good graphic and strong headline will help you with this.

Curiosity:  A short text block that doesn’t sell anything but does create a curiosity for more information.

Action:  Now if you have done the first two steps properly this becomes crucial. If you don’t ask people to do something they usually won’t so have a very specific action that you want the person to take. Always make sure the prospect knows exactly what you want them to do.

Here are some resources that I use to make my splash/squeeze pages:

Instant Squeeze Page Generator:   You can makeeffectivesqueeze page with its ‘click and play wizard.’

Splash Page Maker:   You can make splash/squeeze pages by clicking through the wizard and answer some basic questions like what background color you want, etc.  It will host the splash/squeeze page for you.

Shark Frenzy Squeeze Page Graphics:  Justin Ledvina gives you splash/squeeze page templates.  He adds new ones every month. Click Here to see an example of one I use.

    Hey Tony
    Great article!
I am absolutely amazed at how many people turn up at TE’s without a squeeze or splash page. I use James Grandstaffs pages, but I’ve looked at the tools you recommend in your post and I know they are great stuff
    Cheers!

Hi Tony – very nicely written, I must say. Whilst I agree with much of what you say, my own experience is that, although I mainly go to Traffic Exchanges to get credits so that I can show my own pages, I have often been fascinated by something and stopped to sign up to it straight away – one imagines a lot of surfers find new and useful programs that way – the important thing, as you say, is to keep the message short enough to grab the surfer’s attention in just a few seconds.

I must also say that repetition is not always a bad thing – sometimes I end up clicking on an ad only after I have seen it umpteen times – for whatever reason I suddenly see the merit in something I had previously dismissed as not being for me…

    All the best,

    Linnet

    Hi Lennet

Good points. I get my best material by surfing. I am always finding a headline, a blurp, or something the catches my eye. These tidbits go into a folder that I refer to often when making splash/squeeze pages.

Repetition is good especially for someone like myself who has been branding myself for years. :)

    Cheers!

Great stuff Tony, I love it! Always good to see posts about how to get results from these things and then tools and techniques to get it done. Now if only 96% of the industry listened….

    Hi Tony,

I am looking for a way to automate the surfing. I know that you had a co-op thing before.

    Where can I find this?

    Thanks.
